ACOS looks great. Is your business actually growing?
A seller told me their ACOS dropped to 18% and they were thrilled. But total sales were flat.
ACOS only measures ad-attributed sales. It can't tell you whether ads are helping the whole business.
That's why I track TACOS too:
ACOS = ad spend ÷ ad sales
TACOS = ad spend ÷ total sales (ads + organic)
What I look for:
ACOS steady and TACOS falling → ads are building organic rank. Scale.
ACOS falling and TACOS flat → you're just shifting sales to ads. Dig deeper.
TACOS rising with no sales growth → time to cut waste.
Good PPC makes your whole listing stronger, not just your ad reports.
Which number do you check first, ACOS or TACOS?
