The Anti-AI exercises are a genuinely interesting design decision. Most productivity tools push you further into AI dependency. Building in deliberate mental exercises that don't involve AI as part of the core flow is a counterintuitive but sensible response to the problem you identified.

Snap a photo of your grocery receipt, take a picture inside your fridge, or just say what you bought, and PantryPilot instantly turns it into a live pantry.
Then it handles the part we always forget: it tracks every item, warns you the moment something's about to spoil, and suggests recipes that use those items first so the food you paid for actually gets eaten, not thrown out.
1) The problem:
The average American family throws away $1,500 of food every single year. Across the country, 30–40% of the food we produce is never eaten, and most of that waste doesn't occur on farms or in restaurants. It happens at home.
It's the spinach that wilted in the back of the fridge. The chicken that slipped past its date. The leftovers nobody remembered. We don't waste food on purpose; we just lose track of what we have and when it needs to be used.
That forgotten food costs us money every week, and quietly adds up to one of the biggest sources of household waste there is.
2) The Solution:
It starts the moment you get home. Snap your receipt, photograph your fridge, or just say what you bought, and AI builds your pantry for you, with zero manual typing.

3) How it was built — entirely in Figma Make:
PantryPilot wasn't designed first and coded later. It was designed and built as a working app right inside Figma Make, through pure iterative prompting.
52 versions and 13K AI credits later, it had grown from a single screen into a complete, functional product, and Make nailed the hardest part: the design. Every screen came out clean, warm, and intuitive, exactly the editorial feel we were after, with barely any manual tweaking.
Then we pushed Make past design into a real product:
🔐 Supabase handles authentication and a private, per-user database (with row-level security) so every pantry is real, secure, and persistent.
🤖 Google's Gemini powers the AI that reads receipts and fridge photos to build your pantry and generates recipes around what's about to spoil.
