The idea for this film was inspired by the behavior of a cheerful Golden Retriever puppy that is always full of energy, curiosity, and playful mischief especially its funny habit of carrying around and playing with children's slippers that mysteriously seem to disappear. I wanted to take this simple and relatable everyday moment and transform it into something cinematic and unexpected. Imagine a child constantly losing one of his slippers. Everyone might assume that the slipper has simply been misplaced. But what if the slipper had actually been hiding under the bed all along, secretly taken there by a playful little puppy that simply wanted someone to play with? That simple idea became the foundation of “The Monster Under the Bed.” I deliberately began the story with a serious horror atmosphere so that the audience would genuinely believe that something frightening was hiding underneath the bed. I wanted to build the suspense gradually through the sound of heavy rain, thunder, shadows, a flashlight beam, and a pair of mysterious eyes hidden in the darkness. But in the end, all that fear transforms into something simple, innocent, and heartwarming: a Golden Retriever puppy that simply wants to play.
