I hit my Claude session limit almost every day. For a while I thought the only fix was paying for more. Turns out most of the problem was how I was using it.
Here’s what actually made a difference for me:
Start fresh chats more often. Every new message makes Claude reread the entire conversation, so a long thread burns through your limit fast. When the topic changes, open a
new chat.
Batch your asks. Instead of sending five small follow-ups, put everything into one clear message. Fewer messages, better answers.
Edit instead of replying. If a response misses the mark, edit your original prompt rather than adding “no, I meant...” underneath. It keeps the conversation short and clean.
Use Projects for files you reuse. Upload your docs once to a Project instead of attaching them to every new chat.
Match the model to the task. Quick rewrites and simple questions don’t need the most powerful model. Save the heavy one for deep work.
Turn off what you don’t need. Web search, extended thinking, and extra tools all add to usage. Switch them on only when the task calls for it.
Be specific from the start. Give context, the format you want, and an example if you have one. A good first prompt saves three rounds of corrections.
Since making these changes, I rarely run out, and honestly the output quality went up too.

Had some serious fun today. Turned an old logomark into and interactive easter egg for our website using Claude Code.
I can safely say there isn't and idea stupid anymore. Think of something, build it and launch straight away before any second guessing hits your mind.
