One of the biggest mistakes I see in product development
A lot of people think product design starts with CAD.
It doesn't.
It starts with defining the problem.
I've seen concepts that looked incredible in 3D but failed because no one asked the basic questions first.
Who is this product for?
What problem does it solve?
How will people actually use it?
What makes it better than existing products?
Only after those questions are answered does the design process become meaningful.
A typical product development workflow looks something like this:
Research → Understand the users, competitors, and market.
Concept Development → Explore different ideas before committing to one.
Industrial Design → Refine the product's form, ergonomics, and user experience.
CAD Engineering → Build accurate 3D models, internal layouts, and assemblies.
Prototyping → Validate fit, function, and usability.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) → Prepare the product for efficient production.
Skipping any of these stages often leads to redesigns, higher costs, and unnecessary delays.
The CAD model is important, but it's only one part of a much bigger process.
The strongest products aren't created because someone modeled them well, they're created because every stage of development builds on the one before it.

I completely agree! We often start with wrong step. Clear problem definition is the best way to start. Wrong question ask could lead to wrong solution, and in the end a failed product. Thank you for sharing this.
To be honest, this is good drawing! I love exploded view in this work @deborah ayodele ! 🥰
