Most people watching my videos have never heard of the places in them.
Astak, Baghicha, Shengus. Small dots on a mountain road in Gilgit-Baltistan. Before any site footage plays, the viewer needs to know where they are and why this spot matters.
So I open with a map. An animated route, a truck moving along it with a distance counter, then a fly-in to the site. About 20 seconds, and nobody is lost when the drone shots start.
The same idea works for a product demo or a local business ad. Give people their bearings first, then show them the thing.
