Summary

This service includes full project copy and developmental editing! I provide in-line edits for grammar, punctuation, and spelling as well as suggestions for improving your book's plot, setting, character descriptions, and voice. I maintain open communication with clients throughout the process to ensure work satisfaction and to answer any questions that may arise! Let's get your book ready for publication with exceptional proofreading and editing.

Process

1) Assess scope of project: First, we'll schedule a call to get to know one another and discuss the scope of your project! This will give us an opportunity to discuss your project goals, what you're looking for with my services, and smooth out the timeline and details. Following this call, I'll provide you with a quote for your project depending on total word count and complexity.

2) Chapter-by-chapter line edit: I'll go through each chapter or section of your work and provide line editing services, including any necessary corrections to grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

3) Chapter-by-chapter developmental edit: I'll read through each chapter or section of your work and provide plot improvement suggestions, character and setting development tips, and advice on how to improve the overall flow of each section. Note that this package includes advice and suggestions for developmental edits, but not the edits themselves.

4) For works over 20,000 words in length, I'll provide a 2-page typed summary of overall developmental edits. This will include anything that will significantly improve your overall piece, from voice and tone consistency to trope advice.

5) Final call: After you've had a chance to review my work, we'll have a one-hour call to discuss any questions that you may have regarding my editing suggestions!

What's included

Full Copy Editing
Includes line by line editing to identify any errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Also includes identification of any issues with sentence flow and readability.
Full Developmental Editing
Includes in-line comments, focusing on things like plot, setting, character descriptions, and voice. Please note that I do not make the content edits, I provide comments!
Two-Page Developmental Summary (for works 40,000 words+)
This is a developmental editing summary listing my notes and thoughts on the work as a whole, including suggestions for plot consistency, character and setting development, and voice flow.
