SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS
I deliver a highly customized logo design. It starts with a research phase and conversation with you, the client, to understand your values and inspirations. I offer industry comparisons based on my expertise, and the styles/trends that you want to pursue.
You'll be part of the process, getting clear check-in times to see the progress and ask questions. THE ULTIMATE GOAL is to give you a visual identity that becomes your ultimate first impression.
On average, these types of projects can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months to complete based on how much exploration you'd like to do.
THE PROCESS IN DETAIL
1) RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
We'll sit down and talk fundamentals, values of the brand you'd like to represent, your pain-points for your business, and what personally inspires you. I'll be taking notes while offering comparisons and industry examples that could match what you're looking for.
2) SKETCH SHEETS
I'll check in with you again after 50 SKETCHES have been produced out of my sketchbook (probably more). These are abstract, loose ideas that I've caught on paper to show to you before moving them into a more concrete direction. We'll talk to discuss which of these ideas can be used, or combined with others, into three solid directions we want to pursue.
3) PRELIMINARIES
I'll use every tool at my disposal to start combining or modifying the sketches we spoke about into 3 SOLID DIRECTIONS that you can pick from, to choose one final direction. I'll call you before finalizing the three directions, to present mood-boards and flash sheets that can help guide our discussion on the brand's direction.
You get 2 major revisions at this stage, meaning you can request 2 small visual adjustments to any of the designs without additional charge!
A major revision can sound like: "Can we make the mascot face look more fierce?" or "Can we change the overall logo from an oval-shape to a circular layout?"
4) PRODUCTION
I'll take the one final direction from stage 3 and bring it to the finish line. It'll look completed at the end of this stage, accompanied by mockups and complementary visuals, so that you can see it "in use" before it's even finished.
You get 2 minor revisions at this stage, meaning you can request 2 large visual adjustments to the "final direction" design without additional charge!
A minor revision can sound like: "Can we change the top of the letter A to be flat instead of pointed?" or "Can we clean up the border by reducing the amount of stripes?"
5) FINAL DELIVERABLES
I'll deliver the final logo (and wordmark if applicable) to you, in all necessary file formats for common business usage. I'll also assemble a Brand Guideline, a comprehensive file based on our talks together that shows you exactly how to use the logo to maximum effect, so you know exactly which files to use for any situation.
Example: There are "positive" and "negative" logo designs to apply to dark and bright surfaces whenever a client needs it, and I'll clearly outline how to do so!
You get 1 final minor revision at this stage!
