About this service

Summary

This is a crash course in Python scripting to give you the skills to automate almost anything! You will learn how to use APIs, Python Libraries, and write your own python logic. I will give you an overview of basic concepts so you can continue to practice and grow on your new foundation of Python skills.

Process

We will book 3 meetings, where I will provide you with 2 hour lessons on Python scripting. During the first meeting, we will set up python on your computer. Then, I will provide you with notes, key concepts, and practice problems each meeting so you will get hands on experience and keep track of what you have learned. Any unfinished practice problems will be assigned as homework.

What's included

  • Ability to Use APIs and Libraries

    The client will be able to write simple python scripts and understand the use if APIs and Libraries so they will have the skills to independently write scripts for a variety of tasks.

  • Class 1

    - Write a simple Calculator Script - Python setup on client's computer - Topics: If/then/else statements, loops, math library, functions, terminal commands, I/O operations

  • Class 2

    - Write a simple Language Translator Script - Topics: Understand APIs, Google Translate API usage, reading API documentation, calling APIs, API Tokens/Keys, Python dictionary, Python Lists, JSON

  • Class 3

    - Use Pandas to do simple data analysis - Topics: Pandas, using Python libraries, data frames, import data from CSV, organize data, get/add/remove data, get mean or median.
