My Design Process:
Empathise - Understand the Context: Dive deep into the project context, utilizing competitive analysis, feature analysis, user interviews, and online surveys. This approach allows me to identify design trends and opportunities, and understand user needs and perceptions specific to 3D interactive environments.
Define - Set Clear Objectives: Create user personas, empathy maps, and user objectives that are specific to interaction in 3D environments. A clear definition of goals and direction for the design is set based on these insights.
Ideate - Conceptualize the Design: I translate the defined objectives into tangible design concepts through brainstorming sessions, sketching, and 3D environment planning. I'll work with developers to ensure our concepts are feasible and impactful within the Unreal Engine platform.
Prototype - Visualize and Interact: Develop 3D prototypes that are interactive and give a real feel of the final product. During this stage, I collaborate with Unreal Engine developers to ensure the user interface elements align perfectly with the 3D environment.
Test - Refine and Validate: Conduct usability tests within the 3D environment to validate the design and interaction patterns. I take user feedback and continuously iterate the design to ensure it delivers a satisfying and intuitive user experience.
Document - Chronicle the Journey: Detail the entire design process, from initial research to the final solution, in a comprehensive case study. This includes decisions made, problems identified, and solutions devised, providing a clear understanding of the design journey.
