Make a small set of business documents easier to use with an AI assistant that points people back to its sources.
I will build one bounded prototype for one team and one use case, using an existing language model and up to 25 text-based documents or 250 pages, whichever comes first. The pilot includes document retrieval, source-linked answers, a simple interface, an agreed question set and a written test report.
You receive the prototype, source and configuration files, a document-update guide and a rollout recommendation. Unanswered or uncertain questions remain visible.
This is a knowledge-assistant pilot, not model training or a production-wide rollout. Public deployment, sensitive-data migration, live business actions, SSO and ongoing hosting are separate. Any model or software usage cost is agreed before work starts.
DELIVERABLES
One 45-minute discovery session, scope and data-permission checklist.
One English-language document collection: up to 25 text-based documents or 250 pages, whichever comes first.
A basic content inventory and ingestion of the agreed collection.
One existing-model integration and retrieval pipeline for one use case.
One simple local or agreed test-environment chat interface with source references.
An evaluation set of 20 agreed questions, including missing-answer and conflicting-source cases.
A report recording answer support, retrieval misses and observed limitations; no accuracy percentage is promised in advance.
Editable prototype source, configuration template without credentials and update instructions.
One 45-minute demonstration and one consolidated refinement round.
PROCESS
Define the document collection, questions and answer boundaries.
Build retrieval, source references and the test interface.
Run the agreed evaluation, document limits and hand over the pilot.
CLIENT INPUTS
Which team will use the assistant, and what one task should it support?
Which documents can you authorise for this pilot, and in what formats?
Give five example questions and the source material for correct answers.
Which model account or test environment is available, and what usage budget is approved?
What must the assistant refuse, avoid disclosing or send to a human?
SCOPE LIMITS No foundation-model training, fine-tuning, autonomous agents taking live actions, web scraping, OCR-heavy archives, production deployment, enterprise permissions, SSO, public customer support, regulated decision-making or ongoing hosting. No secrets are included in delivered examples. Third-party usage costs are excluded and require agreement; no new paid account is required by this draft.
The delivery period begins after complete inputs and scope approval.
COMPLETION AND HANDOVER Complete when the pilot for up to 25 documents or 250 pages is demonstrated against the agreed 20 test questions, with source handling, limitations, evaluation results and handover documented. One consolidated refinement round is included. An honest failed or unsupported result is recorded rather than presented as a supported answer; production deployment is excluded.
Delivery starts once the brief, required materials and agreed access are complete. Any delay affecting the delivery date is agreed through Contra.
