Process

Thumbnail title - I brainstorm for a fitting thumbnail title that will work best for the thumbnail under construction. Title should be unique, catchy, engaging and relevant to the video. Conversely, I can also work with the client's title.
Imagery - At this point, I download relevant imagery for the project. Alternatively, I use AI image generation software to generate the right images for the thumbnail.
Colors, Fonts - I carefully select the right colors for the project. Here, I focus on colors that will pop and stand out, giving the thumbnail a higher chance of being seen by the viewer. The right fonts are also chosen at this stage. Bold text that can easily be read is a priority for me. All of this add up to make the thumbnail stand out.
Image editing, manipulation and compositing - Using industry standard software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, I edit images by adjusting appearance, texture, position etc., to achieve the right setting I need for a particular project. At this crucial part of the creative process, I introduce the storytelling approach which brings to play the skillful combination of images with a punchline from the video's script. At this point I also add in the necessary visual effects by using filters, adjustments and lighting effects that add some punch to the thumbnail.
Final edits or adjustments - This stage has to do with any final alterations, additions or subtractions that are necessary before final visuals/artworks are sent over to the clients. Final files are then saved in the appropriate file formats and transferred to the clients.

  • Do you provide channel art cover or YouTube banner design?

  • What is a Source File?

    A source file(PSD format) is an editable version of the thumbnail. You have full control of the file and can edit or change colors, fonts, images, etc. You will still need knowledge of Adobe Photoshop in order to open and edit the Source File.

  • What if I need a thumbnail delivered extra quickly(express)? Can it be done?

    Yes! I can speed up delivery of your thumbnail(s) in 1, 3, 5, or 10 hours, depending on when you need it, for an extra charge. Kindly message me with details on how and when you'd need your thumbnail delivered.

  • What if I don't like the final thumbnail design?

    The Source File(PSD) comes as part of the package I offer. You can request the Source File(PSD) at any point and I'll gladly get it to you.
