It should be able to effectively communicate to its intended audience the essence and mood of the book. It must be visually appealing in order to captivate the reader and compel them to pick up the book and continue reading. The cover may not influence the buyer, but it will definitely make them pick it right off the shelf!š

Brief Discussion via Online Meeting/Call
ā” A quick yet information-packed meeting or call to discuss the project's scope, goals, and needs to be held in order to ensure efficient and effective work during the entire project timeline.
Getting to Know the Book
ā” I will kindly ask for a short synopsis or at least the last few chapters of the book to read to learn about the main characters, plot, and themes of the book so I can better understand the concept, tone, and mood of the story as well as have a better idea of how to effectively design the book cover that is relevant and meets your vision.
ā” This is also the right time for you to share the book title and provide context about your target audience.
Brainstorming & Idea Generation
ā” I will request examples of book covers that you like, a set of illustrations or pictures that you visualize, and color schemes for your book cover.
ā” Please also specify whether you want it to be a photographic, illustrative, or typographic cover so that I can best design it.
ā” I will prepare mood boards for you to review that include a selection of images, fonts, and colors.
ā” After that, I will plan the best visual approach to the project in order to create a book cover design that reflects the story of the book while also engaging the readers you want to reach.
Note:
ā” If you have established branding or style guidelines, please share them with me so that I can make sure the book cover fits in with the overall feel and look of your brand.
Designing Process Starts
ā” Begin designing and will keep in touch on a regular basis to ensure that progress is being made as planned.
Revisions (if must)
ā” Show progress to the client on a weekly basis so that adjustments can be made if necessary. You will have realistic and enough time to review the design and decide if any changes should be made.
High-Resolution File Delivery
ā” I will send you the final design in PDF, PNG, and SVG (for the logo) formats on GMail or GDrive in order to ensure the best quality as soon as the final design has been approved.
