Logo
Your logo is quite literally the face of your brand. It is the most important design asset for any brand. It is what helps customers identify your brand from a plethora of brands. An effective brand package will have several variations of your custom logo. This helps in building a consistent brand identity through varied mediums and platforms. There are different kinds of logos such as a monogram, wordmarks, mascots, pictorial marks, and so on. Choosing the right kind of logo will define your brand personality.
Color palette
Having a standardised colour palette helps maintain a consistent visual identity for your brand. A colour palette helps visually bind your brand with its different collaterals. A colour palette is drawn by factors like colour theory which will dictate your brand essence. This is why it is key to have a colour palette that signifies your brand personality and ethos. It is also crucial for each colour to be identified by its colour code or CMYK/RGB values. Using a specified code will maintain consistency of colours across mediums.
Typography
Typography refers to the arrangement and overall appearance of your text. It is often not given the magnitude it deserves. However, having a specified typeface attached to your brand will have a strong impact on how your audience views your brand. This is why having primary and secondary fonts will add to the visual consistency of your brand. It also takes into account the different text sizes and placements that have to be considered while designing collaterals.
Brand style guide
A brand style guide is your go-to handbook on what your brand stands for and represents. It defines all the do’s and don’ts to maintain brand coherence. This could include rules for logo usage, photography styles, design elements, tone of voice and other essentials. A comprehensive style guide makes it easier to generate content that is true to the brand.
Additional Assets
Once you have the essentials in your brand guidelines sorted, you can always add supporting assets to it depending on the needs and requirements of your brand. This could be an illustration system, iconography, templates for presentations or social media, brand stationary, and other miscellaneous assets like packaging, signages and so on. These can be additional collaterals in a brand package.
