About this service

Summary

During many years working with React I've become quite the advocate for this library and thus ended up converting a bunch of friends. I've seen them struggle at the beginning first hand and the road can be quite bumpy, especially if you've never played around with another JS frontend library before. Even coming from jQuery can be a bit of a paradigm shift with the way React usually handles things.

You have to learn "how to think in React".

I've led several video calls with friends who were learning this library and gladly helped them along the way. During this time I honed the skill of explaining how things work without resorting to jargons that make things even more confusing for those who are at the beginning or even in an intermediate state in their journey.

  • Global state?
  • Local state?
  • JSX?
  • Controlled components?
  • High order components?
  • Refs?
  • Effects?
  • Hooks?
  • Reducer?
  • Memoization?
  • Re-renders?
  • Do I need Redux? What even is Redux?

These are just some examples of how the React ecosystem can be full of jargons. Do any of these sound a bit daunting to you? Or maybe you kind of know what they are but not quite sure where to apply what?

Get in touch and I'll help you wrap your head around this.
