Summary
Based on my previous experience, working on positions such as Head of Digital or Digital Marketing Strategist, I know what the processes of agencies usually are. And there's nothing wrong with them! I, on the other hand believe they need to pursue a slightly different path than I do now.
I like to decide whatever decision I take, based on data and clients perception. The reason is simple. I truly believe, that if a client feels the marketing decisions are also their ideas, it just works better. Brands, and its owners then manifest better whatever we, in marketing, are doing and aiming for. The brand gets its look, and it believable!
That is the reason why I always try to have a conversation with the client about where they see their brand short-term AND long-term. Why they do what they do? Why are they selling the product or a service, and what is their connection to their business? That is also a reason why I love working with rather smaller clients, than huge brands with 10+ employee marketing departments.
Through our cooperation I will be presenting competitors breakdowns, where they are at, what is the brand's state compared to its competitors, numerical and growth oriented plan. Based on the presented growth tactics, I like to discuss clients' feelings about that, where you want to lead your brand, and what your goals are (short-term and long-term too!). That way I can prepare a step-by-step strategy for how to achieve your desired state.
