Summary

Have you finished a video and need to wrap it up with amazing sound design that will enhance your storytelling?

I have over 15 years of experience in sound design and audio-post, I understand how unique each storytelling project is. I have worked with both large mainstream production companies like Disney-Latam, small media production houses and indie projects. From long-format feature films to short punchy adverts.

I will do:

Dialogue sync-check, cleaning, equalization, levelling and tonal balance

Sound design: Ambience, Transitions and SFX

Process

Everything project is different. It depends on the king of production, source material quality, narrative style and overall complexity. But here are some basic steps. I will need:

A detailed document (.pdf, .doc, .txt…) with director notes, so I know exactly what you need for each scene. A time-coded list would be great!

Final cut of the video (picture locked) - I do not need colour grading to be final, but be sure cuts and timing will not change. I do not need a hi-res video, an 1080p 5Mbps h.264 mp4 will do fine 👍

AAF (or OMF) file with the audio timeline and media. (See FAQ for more detail) If you are not sure how to do this, this article may be of help.

FAQs

What is the best way for me to submit my files?
I am able to work with a variety of video and audio formats and can import timelines from most non-linear editing systems. AAF and OMF formats are commonly used, but don't hesitate to reach out if you're unsure. I'll be happy to assist throughout the process.
What are the best settings to export an AAF file?
These are my recommendations: * Embedded media: This setting exports a single large file. (So there is only one file to transfer and audio clips link perfectly 👍) * Handle frames: 100 (At least 100, more can be better but this will increase file size) * 48kHz 24 bit linear PCM, wave or aiff format / Breakout to mono * Do not render audio clip effects (So I have unadulterated source material) * Do not include video in the AAF/OMF Every NLE version is different, so if exporting an AAF doen't turnout to be a straight forward process, I will guide you through this porcess.

What's included

Full Mix
I will deliver the master mix matching your loudness and tech specifications. File length will match the provided video so it´s easy to sync in your time line.
Stem Sub-mixes
I will deliver the stem submixes that are relevant to your project (e.g.: Dialogue, SFX, Ambience, Music, etc.) Each stem will be a separate file, all with the same length as the full mix so everything lines up in sync 😀
Video Preview
I will deliver a Low-res video preview with the final mix. In this way you can quickly check out the new mix in sync with your video.
