Process

1. Project Initiation & Brief:
Client Input: The client provides a detailed brief, including:
Character's purpose (game, animation, etc.)
Character's personality, role, and backstory
Desired visual style (realistic, stylized, cartoonish, etc.)
Any specific requirements (clothing, accessories, etc.)
Reference images or mood boards (if available)
Clarification: The designer asks clarifying questions to ensure a complete understanding of the client's vision.
2. Concept Development (Round 1):
Concept Sketches: The designer creates three (3) distinct character concepts, exploring different visual directions, poses, and expressions. These are typically rough sketches.
Presentation: The designer presents the three concepts to the client, explaining the design choices and highlighting the strengths of each concept.
3. Client Feedback & Selection (Revision 1):
Client Review: The client reviews the three concepts and provides feedback.
Concept Selection: The client selects one concept to move forward with for further development. The client may also request specific elements from the other concepts to be incorporated.
4. Refinement (Round 2):
Detailed Design: The designer refines the selected concept, adding details such as: Facial features and expressions Clothing and accessories Color palette Pose and silhouette
Presentation: The designer presents the refined design to the client.
5. Client Feedback & Revisions (Revision 2):
Client Review: The client reviews the refined design and provides feedback.
Final Adjustments: The designer makes final adjustments based on the client's feedback. This may include minor changes to details, colors, or proportions.
6. Final Delivery:
Final Artwork: The designer delivers the final character artwork in the agreed-upon format (e.g., AI, EPS, PSD, PNG, vector).
Source Files: The designer may also deliver source files, depending on the project agreement.
Documentation: The designer provides any necessary documentation, such as a character sheet or style guide.
