About this service

Summary

I will create realistic 3D virtual garment samples using Clo3D, Style3D, or Browzwear. Your dxf patterns will be transformed into detailed digital twins. These final rendered images will save you time and money for product photoshoots and can be directly used for ecommerce websites. Once a digital twin is created, for a small fee you can come back and add additional colorways/prints to be rendered.

Process

Delivery of dxf patterns with tech pack, colorway information (Pantone preferred), graphics artwork and print artwork already in repeat. Photos of physical samples is helpful but not required. The more information, the more accurate the 3D digital twin.
Garment is sewn in 3D in basic form in white with all details in black. Snapshots are sent to appropriate contact for initial approval of construction and fit.
Garment is sewn in 3D in it's final form, including any small adjustments agreed upon, stitching details, buttons, hardware, trims, colorways, graphics and prints included. Snapshots are delivered for final approval before rendering.
Renders of the 4 standard views and 1 detail view are delivered.

FAQs

  • What is a dxf pattern?

This is a standard format for a digital form of a flat pattern. Pattern making programs like Gerber, Optitex and Lectra will export this file type to be used by the manufacturer.

  • Can you make 3D samples just from my photos of clothing?

Technically garments can be made in 3D from scratch without an existing pattern. However I do not recommend this because it will not truly be a digital twin. Though you can create flat patterns in 3D software, they will not be as accurate. It is best to use software focused on flat pattern making to get the best results in 3D.

  • Can you make my dxf patterns for me?

This is not part of my services at this time. I recommend using a skilled professional tech designer or pattern maker that is experienced in making patterns using software like Gerber, Lectra or Optitex

  • What if I have only paper versions of my patterns?

It is highly recommended to seek a pattern digitization service in order to use these patterns in 3D. In the long run digitizing your paper patterns is a safeguard for the future, regardless if you are using 3D. Digital patterns can be kept safe from damage like flood and fire. It is also the standard format most manufacturers require today.

  • How will you digitize the fabric?

All 3D clothing simulation software comes with a wide library of commonly used fabrics. The best way to customize these fabrics is for the client to provide a high quality photo of the fabric, laying on flat surface with even lighting. Photo should be taken straight down on the fabric. From just this photo I can create a 3D texture and then add the physics in my software.

What's included

  • Product Ghost Renders

You will receive 4 standard views (front, back, left, 3/4 left) and 1 detail view (client's choice) of the final garment. Background is transparent and best lighting is used. These renders will not include the avatar and pose will be straight with arms down (I pose). These are like your standard pack shots in photography.

  • Colorways

The garment will be rendered in each colorway/print specified in the tech pack. If more than 4 colorways/prints are required, there will be an extra fee.
