Another example can be seen going back to the years before the Liberation. At that time, many people sacrificed everything in the name of our fatherland. Our homeland has occupied a large part in the hearts of many and still is. Some believe they sacrificed themselves in the name of debt. But can hundreds of thousands sacrifice their entire families, loved ones and themselves in the name of a debt? Rather, love for the homeland has provoked them to perform such glorious feats. And is people's love for the homeland so strong nowadays? There are people for whom the homeland means nothing, while for others it is everything. For some Levki, Botev, Rakovski, Benkovski, etc. are just people who sacrificed themselves for the homeland, and for others they are ideals. During these glorious times, love and duty were interconnected and opposed. Love and duty to the motherland prevailed over love and duty to the family. An example of which we can find in "Farewell in 1866" by Botev. The rebel says goodbye to his mother and his wife in the name of his fatherland. He neglects the debt to the family for the debt to the homeland. For him, the freedom of the homeland is everything, it is his ideal and he is ready to achieve his ideal by sacrificing everything dear.
