Automated Prod AWS Architecture with Terraform & GitHub Actionsmohd tariq
Overview
Designed and deployed a highly available, multi-AZ AWS infrastructure for a web application using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated CI/CD.
Problem Statement
The application previously suffered from manual SSH deployments, configuration drift, and lack of automated scaling during peak traffic.
Solution Architecture
Terraform: Provisioned a custom AWS VPC (Public & Private subnets), NAT Gateways, Application Load Balancer (ALB), and Auto-Scaling EC2 instances.
Ansible: Automated server configuration, security hardening, and environment variable management.
Docker & Jenkins/GitHub Actions: Created a containerization pipeline that automatically builds images on every Git push and deploys them without downtime.
Key Outcomes & Business Impact
0 Downtime Deployments: Reduced manual release steps to a single git push.
Cost Optimization: Utilized auto-scaling rules to reduce server waste during low-traffic periods.
Security: Placed databases and application servers in private subnets behind ALB and strict Security Groups.
