Process

FOR THE BRAND SYSTEM

STEP ONE (FRESH START)→ Working closely with our clients—I ask lots of questions. I discover your tastes, preferences, and the potential audience that the branding is being directed to. I approach branding from a context perspective first. Defining the context will provide answers to the messaging, tone, and meaning and offer real solutions to your needs.

STEP TWO (RESEARCH)→ This is when I do a deep dive into investigating the current landscape of the client’s competitors to make sure your branding is distinctly differentiated. I collect images and create moodboards, write word association lists, and even sometimes hand-make things to get the visual process going. Once I determine the words to the tone and mood we want to convey, I then search for imagery, colors, and fonts that match.

STEP THREE (SKETCHING/CONCEPTING )→ After the research—the sketching process begins. I start designing the logo options and ultimately then start refining them. Lastly, I will then determine a typographic system and color palette to go with each option.

STEP FOUR (REVISIONS) → Two logo systems will be presented to the client. We will include our research journey, determined language, and design system. After the logo options have been presented to the client—we collect the feedback and make revisions where necessary. There should be no more than two rounds of revisions to determine which logo option will be chosen.

STEP FIVE (DELIVERY & SUPPORT)→ Once the logo system has been approved by the client, we will provide the source files as well as a brief brand guideline on how to use the system effectively. Support will also be provided to transition the process smoothly.
