My rate is negotiable; I typically charge between $20-$25 per hour, but am open to fixed rates for more concrete projects.
For example, I recently completed a freelance translation project for a greeting card company, and was paid $50 for two full pages of text. This was an in-depth project requiring a translation of emotional language; I conjoinined creative writing with translation for the most effective results.
What's included
Quality-sensitive Translation
My translations are not direct, literal reproductions of the source text. Not only can this work be done by Google Translate, it makes for a nonsense morphing of text. Beyond this, I am educated on how to translate concepts from source text into target text; I am fully fluent in French, and a longtime resident of France, meaning I have high sensitivity for when ideas from English must be adapted for a French worldview.
