Summary

A brand style guide is a digital instruction manual that specifies every aspect of the look and feel of your brand. Apart from being used internally, a brand style guide is shared with partners, media, and agencies to brief them on how to communicate your brand properly and consistently.
It often begins with a brand's mission and goes on to define its visual, sonic, and experiential identity. Here are some categories included in my guides:
Tone of voice: language, nomenclature, grammar, abbreviations, acronyms, etc.
Typography: font styles, sizes, and spacing
Logo and/or Wordmark: full logos, secondary logos, and icons
Color palette: primary, secondary, and tertiary colors
Other imagery: photos, illustrations, and artwork
