3D Modeling and Rendering by Sam Cordell3D Modeling and Rendering by Sam Cordell
3D Modeling and RenderingSam Cordell
One of the most satisfying moments early in my design career came when I translated an idea previously just in my head and on paper into a 3D modeling software. It wasn't just a matter of redrawing the lines as I had on the page digitally, but a full reinterpretation of form with an added dimension. Time spent pouring over texture: reflection, imperfection, depth, warmth. The resulting photorealistic render of exactly the image in my mind was truly gratifying.
I would love to work together to elicit this same feeling in you.
Process
In an introductory call we discuss the intentions of your project. I want to try my best to see what's in your head! Whether it's reference images, a mood-board or a polished drawing that just needs someone to bring it to life, any level of specificity to get this process started is a step in the right direction.
The more technical side of the discussion comes next. Is this model going to be used for computer-generated product images? Is it intended to go into prototyping and 3D printing? Architectural Visualization? Game design? Archival work?
These choices early on dictate the program in which the model will be constructed and rendered, tailored to the individual project. I have facility in programs geared for many different kinds of design and want choose the right tool for the job.
Deliverables
As the process gets underway, we will establish a cadence that is beneficial to all parties regarding design updates and sample renderings. There multiple iterations with minor adjustments that could be shared, yet that may not be what you're looking for. I can come back at slightly longer intervals with more progress or take you to the granular level as I work through the small details; whatever works best for you.
Where to go next?
Whether your project ends with finalized renders ready for use or 3D files sent to print, I will ensure that the final product meets both your and my high standards and achieves the goals set at the outset of the project and those that emerged during the design process. I will share 3D files on request and look forward to working together on the next project!
