Process

Strategic Product Design Consulting We start with an in-depth consultation to understand your business goals, target audience, and product vision. During this phase, I’ll map out a tailored design strategy using my NN/g-certified expertise to align with your overall business objectives.
Design Research Next, I conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis. This step involves creating detailed user personas and journey maps to uncover user needs, pain points, and opportunities for innovation.
Wireframes I develop low-fidelity wireframes to outline the product’s structure and user flow. These wireframes provide a clear blueprint of each screen, focusing on simplicity and functionality. We’ll review these wireframes together to ensure alignment with your business goals before moving forward.
UI Design & Design System Using insights from our research, I create high-fidelity UI designs that reflect your brand's style and user needs. I also build a complete design system—including components, typography, color palettes, and iconography—to ensure a consistent, scalable user experience across all digital touchpoints.
Prototypes I develop interactive prototypes to bring the design to life, allowing us to test user flows and gather valuable feedback. This step is crucial for validating ideas and ensuring the product is intuitive and user-friendly before moving into development.
Collaboration with PMs and Developers I work closely with Product Managers and developers throughout the process, actively participating in sprint planning and daily standups (if using Scrum) or structured project briefings (Waterfall). This ensures a seamless design-to-development handoff and that the product meets both user and technical requirements.
Handoff to Developers I provide organized, annotated design files (e.g., Figma) and work directly with the development team to answer questions, make adjustments, and guarantee that the final product matches the intended design. My involvement continues until the design is fully implemented.
UX Review & Design Critique Throughout the project, I conduct regular UX reviews and design critiques to identify areas for improvement and keep the design aligned with user needs and business goals. I incorporate feedback from stakeholders and cross-functional teams to refine and perfect the final product.

FAQs

  • 1. What is your design process like?

My process is strategic and user-centered, starting with a deep-dive consultation to understand your business goals and target audience. From there, I conduct design research, create wireframes, develop UI designs, build prototypes, and work closely with your team throughout the project. Regular UX reviews and collaboration with developers ensure a smooth handoff and a product that meets user needs and business objectives.

  • 2. How long does a typical project take?

The timeline depends on the project's scope. For smaller projects like wireframing or UI design, it can take 2-4 weeks. Larger projects, including full product design, research, and prototyping, typically take 12-24 weeks. I’ll provide a detailed timeline after our initial consultation.

  • 3. Do you work with agile teams or follow a waterfall approach?

I adapt to both methodologies. I can work within an agile environment, participating in sprints and daily standups, or follow a waterfall approach for structured project briefings. My flexibility ensures smooth collaboration with your team, regardless of the process you use.

  • 4. Will I be involved in the design process?

Absolutely! Your input is vital. I keep an open line of communication throughout the project, with regular check-ins, reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure the design aligns with your vision and business goals.

  • 5. What tools do you use for design and collaboration?

Yes! I build a comprehensive design system tailored to your brand, including components, typography, color palettes, and icons. This system ensures consistency across all touchpoints and provides a scalable foundation for future updates.

  • 8. How do you handle the handoff to developers?

I provide organized, annotated design files (usually in Figma) and collaborate closely with the development team during the handoff. I’m available to answer questions, make necessary adjustments, and conduct reviews to ensure the final product aligns with the design.

  • 9. What if we need to make changes after the project is complete?

I ensure your team has everything they need to make changes by providing thorough documentation and a robust design system. For ongoing design support, we can discuss a separate maintenance or consulting arrangement tailored to your needs.
