I write one PowerShell script that automates a single, clearly defined task. Examples - bulk changes from a CSV, report exports, file or folder clean-up, scheduled housekeeping, user or group admin in Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, or Azure resource tasks. The brief lists the inputs, the outputs and what "done" looks like. The script has safe defaults (a -WhatIf / dry-run mode where it changes things), logging and error handling, and a README.
Deliverables
• One commented .ps1 script, up to about 200 lines
• README: prerequisites, required permissions (least privilege), how to run it, example output
• A sample input file if the script reads one
• One round of fixes after you've tested it
Client must provide
• A written task description: inputs, outputs, rules and edge cases
• The target (Windows PowerShell 5.1, PowerShell 7, Azure Automation, a scheduled task)
• Sample data or a test environment, or you run the dry-run mode and send me the output. I don't need your admin credentials.
Scope limits
One task. Anything bigger is the standard automation package. No GUI front ends. Third-party tools and on-prem Exchange only if named in the brief and agreed first.
All communication and delivery in writing (files, README and a short summary). No calls or meetings.
