About this service

Summary

The service is recommended for clients that wish to create a game in an orderly manner, that will be easy to maintain, and update in the future. Clients that enjoy the process of directing the game, and have an active role in the production through communication, will enjoy using this service.
I am currently offering PC, Linux, Android, and WebGL builds. I can handle iOS builds as well, through my subcontractors.
Please contact me to receive my game development process video, which will help us get a clear direction on how to start the project.

Process

Requirements Gathering: This is probably the most important step. We wish to give the client exactly what they want. To do this, we will get a clear idea of the end result that the client is looking for.
Visual representation of concept art: We usually ask the client to give us a visual representation of the product that they want in the end. We encourage them to hire a concept artist (optional) for this, or we can use a reference game to get an idea of what should be our first module.
Module definition: Since we work in a modular fashion and do not charge for the entire project in one go, we define a module (list of tasks) that will help us get a step closer to the final product.
Exchange of Game Assets: The client is requested to provide the assets that are required to make the game (UI, Sprites, Environments, etc). If they do not have them, we search with the clients for the assets on various stores, such as the Unity Asset Store.
Unity/Godot Project Creation: At this point, we create the Unity/Godot project and place all of the assets inside.
Module Start: We start working on the module, according to the definition.
Submit to Client for Approval: We give the module or a part of the module to the client to approve before we begin working on the other tasks, if any remain.
Submit Source Code to Client: We give the project files/source code to the client for approval after the work for the entire module is approved.
We repeat from step 3 until the entire game is complete.
The source code for the entire project is provided after the end of all modules.

FAQs

  • What engine do you use?

We use the Unity engine (first preference) and the Godot engine (for clients that wish to avoid Unity licensing fees).

  • Can the game be released on multiple platforms?

Unity and Godot are cross-platform game engine. We can release the game on multiple platforms. We are covering Windows, Android, Linux, and WebGL ports right now.

  • Why aren't you offering iOS ports?

I do not own Apple hardware which is required for iOS porting.

  • How long does it take to create a video game?

It depends on the amount of work required. Some games can be completed in a week (Flappy Birds like game) whereas others can take years (Stardew Valley).

  • Can you create both 2D and 3D games?

I offer full 2D game development solutions. I have 2D artists that can create all the art-work required to create the game. For 3D games, I rely on the client to provide the 3D assets (graphics, environments, and characters) to complete the game.

What's included

  • Complete Project Files

I will provide the entire project files (that contain the source code) at the end of the project. I will also give the latest 'approved' build. I may also include proof of the game being uploaded on whichever storefront the client asked me to upload to.
