Process

Set clear objectives for the audit, such as evaluating the site’s compliance with WCAG 2.1 at the AA level or ensuring usability for screen reader users.

Text Alternatives: Verify that all non-text content, like images and multimedia, have appropriate alt text or captions.
Keyboard Navigation: Ensure that all interactive elements are accessible and operable using only a keyboard.
Screen Reader Compatibility: Test the page with popular screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to check if the content is read correctly and in a logical order.
Color Contrast and Visual Design: Measure color contrast ratios to confirm they meet accessibility standards and review the visual design for potential barriers to users with visual impairments.
Form Elements and Controls: Check that all form fields are properly labeled and that error messages are clear and accessible.
Content Structure: Assess the use of headings, landmarks, and semantic HTML to ensure a logical and navigable structure.
