Creative direction: the overall aesthetic, what's the overall feel and visuals wished for the design?

Moodboard – inspirations, colour palette, typography, etc.

Content – what do you wish to be displayed on the design, imagery/graphics and text.

Format/Medium: where is this supposed to live (e.g. digital delivery/print delivery), size, way of presentation.
