Process

Foundation: Initially, the design is developed and finalized, typically using a Figma file or live prototype. Once the design is complete, I identify the key components and design tokens—such as font sizes, colors, spacing, grids, and visual assets—and create a Style Guide. This guide lays out the foundational elements of the website, ensuring consistency and clarity throughout the development process and making future updates more manageable.

Development: Once we have the foundation, I will proceed with the development, kicking off two phases in unison. The first involves creating a static version of the pages, adding copy, graphics, etc. The second is creating the back-end of the site, which depends on the project scope (things like creating CMS collections, integrations with 3rd party tools, etc).

Refining: After all pages are done, I’ll do a round of refining, including things like adding states, transitions, animations, etc, where needed. This step is where we give life to the site and turn a static site into a more dynamic experience.

Testing & Publishing: Once we have finished the work, I’ll provide a round of testing to analyze the performance and reliability. I’ll use various tools to benchmark the website for loading, responsiveness, and speed, while also ensuring that it works reliably on all web browsers and mobile devices. Once we’re sure that your project is ready to be released to the public, I’ll deploy it on your public domain.

How can I see the progress of the project?
In the design step, you will have access to a Figma file where the work happens. You will be able to add comments and give feedback in real time. In the build step, the site will have a live link where you can see in real time how the pages are coming together.
How fast will you deliver?
We like to cook fast. That said, the pace and volume of work we can do for you will depend on the project’s scope and your priorities. However, you can generally expect a simple landing page designed & developed in as little as 2-4 weeks.
What if I don’t like the results?
We’ll keep iterating until you’re fully satisfied with the result. High quality is what you hire us for and your vision is our top priority.
What if I want to include something that was not predicted on the initial scope?
Once the scope of the project is defined and the contract is signed, any changes on the scope can be discussed and negotiated. Alternatively, if there are a lot of changes on the initial scope, or if the scope is not clear enough, I can work under a retainer agreement. Let me know if you’re interested and I will update the proposal to include it.
