FAQs

  • How does working with a publicist help my bottom line?

Consumers buy from people they know, like and trust. An experienced publist will help you become that person.

  • If I pitch to media, does it guarantee print, broadcast, or electronic stories?

Guaranteed media placements are paid ads or advertorials. Earned media, which includes a reporter interviewing you or asking a quick question, is not guaranteed. It, however, remains the most respected and long-lasting way to grab peoples' attention.

  • I hate social media. Do I really need it?

Social media can be stressful for some, but it remains a highly-sought way to communicate with and engage fans.

  • Will you do my social media for me?

Social media is an important part of your publicity strategy so yes, I'd love to help produce and upon request, implement your social media calendar. Social media works when its timing, content and engagement compliments your other publicity.

  • How long is long enough to give a publicity or public relations plan a chance to work?

While I offer three-month publicity services, that time is mostly spent on information gathering and material prep. Effective publicity projects take at least six months to move the needle. If you consitently hear about a person, place, or thing, someone's engaged for at least a year or their plan is ongoing. (PR and reputation management are forever projects!) Because of the personal nature of copywriting, collecting quality posts for blogs or newsletters takes time as well.

  • Can't I just use AI?

Artificial intelligence may help you create template-type copy, but it won't spotlight your special voice. If something sounds like it was produced by a machine, it probably was.
