Edit scope video call
We'll start with an initial conversation to introduce ourselves, go over the content in need of editing, clarify target audience and messaging goals, identify editing needs (I can provide high-level feedback and line-editing for clarity and context, or line-editing only) and specify a timeline
Edit feedback and edit approach video call
I provide high-level feedback for major re-writes, suggest ways to restructure content if needed, and suggest additional reporting to fill narrative holes. Then, we'll hop on a video call to discuss my suggestions and decide collaboratively on how best to approach the edit
Edit first draft
Based on our agreed-upon edit approach, I deliver the first draft re-write of the content or coach the writer through the re-write process. If all parties are satisfied with the edit first draft, we move on to line edits. If there's still more kinks to be worked out, we hop an an additional video call to address any needed tweaks to our editing approach, after which I (or the writer, with my coaching) will provide a second draft of the edit
Final edit and promotion language
Once the edit draft is accepted, I provide granular line-edits and copyediting, edits for context and clarity, possible cuts, and suggested headline, dek and social media promotion language, along with suggested SEO language for article URL
