Scheduling an Introductory Call

Over the phone, tell me about your project and piece. Give me the details about the intended audience, the length of your material, the time frame in which you’d like to finish the project, and any additional relevant details.

Initial Evaluation

After your introductory call, send all your materials for review. I’ll read your piece(s) and give an initial evaluation on whether it could benefit from a workshopping session or needs to be proofread. Protocol for sending materials will be sent after initial contact.

Editing Practices

When editing a piece, I utilize Google Docs revision features. 

For copyediting and proofreading, I will use the Suggestions feature, highlighting my changes in green with the option to Accept or Reject the edit. If accepted, the changes will automatically be saved. If rejected, the original text is maintained. 

For shorter comments in reference to a particular sentence or passage, I will use the Comments feature. This will highlight the part in question with my comment made in the margins of the document.

If a piece requires more workshopping, we will create a virtual meeting schedule and brainstorm next steps together.
