Process
1. Initial Consultation & Onboarding
- Understanding Client Needs: In-depth discussion about the business's current financial processes, pain points, and goals.
- Scope of Work: Develop a clear agreement on the specific bookkeeping services required (transaction recording, reporting, reconciliations, etc.).
- System Setup (if needed): Assist in selecting or optimizing accounting software (MYOB, Xero, etc,) and tailoring the Chart of Accounts for the client's business.
2. Workflow Analysis & Optimization
- Process Mapping: Document existing workflows for handling invoices, receipts, expenses, and other financial transactions.
- Improvement Identification: Analyze workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for simplification.
- Develop Streamlined Workflows: Propose streamlined workflows with clear responsibilities and the potential for automation.
3. Bookkeeping (ongoing)
- Data Entry & Categorization: Accurately record transactions in the agreed-upon accounting software.
- Reconciliations: Regular bank statement reconciliations and account balance checks to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Generate monthly/quarterly statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, etc.) customized to the client's needs.
4. Insights & Communication (ongoing)
- Proactive Insights / Advice: Highlighting trends behind numbers, potential issues, or areas for improvement.
- Regular Communication: Maintain open communication channels with the client to discuss financial reports, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Process Review: Periodically review workflows and reporting with the client to adapt to changes in the business and maintain efficiency.
