FAQs

• What files will I receive?

  You will receive a clean version of your final document (Microsoft Word or Google Docs), a version with tracked changes, and may receive additional files that include tables, graphics, or other supplementary material. You will also receive an RIS file that contains all your references and can be imported into the reference manager of your choice. Finally, you will also receive a document that contains a summary of the work done and any additional suggestions or concerns.

• I already submitted this article and now I have to apply revisions based on the peer-review. Can you help me?

  I can analyze the reviewer comments, create a list of the required changes, and help you apply them.

• How long will it take you to edit my paper?

  The length of time it takes me to finish a paper depends on the services requested, the quality of the writing, the completeness of the manuscript, and the requirements of the target journal.

• What referencing/citation styles do you work with?

  I can work with all major citation styles (APA, AMA, Vancouver, Harvard, MLA, Chicago) and I can tailor your references to fit specific styles that your target journal requires.

• Can you write or rewrite my paper for me?

  I will not write your paper for you. I offer guidance and editing services to help you improve your paper and get it ready for publication, while adhering to ethical and legal authorship policies.

• My English is not very good. Can you help me?

  English as a Second Language authors face additional challenges in getting their work published in major international English-language journals. Journal editors and peer-reviewers sometimes reject ESL manuscripts because English-language mistakes make it difficult to understand the writing and assess the scientific rigor of the research. I can help improve your syntax, sentence structure, grammar, and word choice to make your ESL writing sound more natural to English speakers, so that your work is judged on its own merits.

• Do you only work with US English?

  I have experience editing in US, UK, and Canadian English. I make sure that each manuscript adheres to the correct grammatical, spelling, and diction rules and customs of each region.

• Can you edit articles in other fields?

  I have experience as a writer, editor, and peer reviewer for medical, nursing, and health sciences research articles. For other forms of scientific research, I cannot advise you on the subject matter itself, but I can provide editing, proofreading, referencing, and formatting services and help you meet journal requirements and best practices for scientific communication. For literary or non-scientific writing, I can only provide English-language editing and proofreading services, and help you format your references.

• Do you only work with article manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals?

  I can work with dissertations, reports, case studies, conference papers, and other types of writing. Please contact me for more info.
