About this service

Summary

Full-stack Industrial Design project creating physical consumer products, including but not limited to technology and household appliances. Integrating strong visual design, user-centred design and feasibility considerations to create designs that are highly usable, beautiful and functional.

Process

We'll start off with an initial free call to discuss project requirements and details. Depending on where you are in the process, we will pick up and continue from the stages described below. If you only require input into specific parts of the process (e.g. you have a CAD model that needs to be rendered), that can be accomodated. Your feedback will help guide the direction between each stage to ensure successful delivery.

DISCOVERY

I will begin the researching the requirements, exploring user needs and pain points, business context and technical challenges.

DEFINE

I will create a clear design specification. This will contain specific and measurable goals for the design.

I will research and present visual design considerations including Color, Material and Finish.

DEVELOP

I will sketch multiple concepts exploring form and individual features.

I will create a CAD model of the selected concept and iterate based on feedback.

If required, iterations can be 3D printed to test ergonomics.

I will polish the design, incorporating detail design features.

DELIVER

I will apply selected CMF configurations and create rendered product scenes.

I will assemble documentation and images of the product.

What part of the design process do you cover?
I cover the entire design process from initial research and conception to producing 3D renders. If you need assistance with specific phases, I can contribute to that as well.
Are the CAD models ready for manufacture?
Not necissarily. Design for Manufacture requirements can be discussed and considered upon request during our initial call.

Design Documentation
A document that describes imporant design decisions, the final design, key product features and renders from multiple angles. (PDF)
Renders
High quality renders of the product from multiple angles and in multple scenes including plain background, edge lighting, photorealistic context. (PNG, JPEG)
CAD
Final CAD design file. (Autodesk Fusion File, STEP, STL)
Animation
Basic rendered animations with product or camera in motion to highlight key features. Optional based on requirements. (MP4)
