Process
Following are the steps I follow
Discuss with the customer and understand about the website, theme - plugins, hosting space used, approx size of the website and its user traffic along with low traffic time. During this step we will finalize the frequency of updates my recommended duration is every 2 weeks
After receiving necessary credentials like cPanel or equivalent based on the platform client use - I will create a staging server if not already exists and if the serer have enough space and supported sub-domains or staging websites
After that the backups will be taken for both staging and production before working on the same
Perform the upgrade - verify in staging and then move to live and test thoroughly
There will be an excel file which shows the list of plugin and themes we upgraded along with their status and previous and current version.

I will manage the WordPress website by performing the following on a regular basis 1. Staging website setup if not exist (Hosting should have enough space and supports the same) 2. Plugin Upgrades (Free and Premium) 3. Theme Upgrades (Free and Premium) 4. WordPress Core Upgrades Please Note: For Premium theme upgrade the customer need to provide the uptodate theme For Premium plugins upgrade the customer need to provide either the credentials to those websites or need to provide the updated plugins
