Summary

Let's build an app together!
Using Laravel and its ecosystem of tools, I work with you to build and launch an MVP of an application. I've built things like volunteer management platforms, historical bill trackers, and even a web scraper or two.
If you're tired of using error-prone, manually-updated spreadsheets to manage complicated processes in your business, we can build an app that automates as much as we can, while still giving you control and visibility into the process.

Process

After our contract is signed and we're ready to start working together, we kick off by planning what we're going to build.
Planning
We'll meet and discuss your business needs and the problems you're trying to solve.
We'll work together to sketch out a detailed list of features for your application, and a rough timeline.
If you have a project management tool (i.e. Trello, Asana, etc.), you'll need to invite me; if not, I can set something up in Notion.
I'll write up a requirements document for you to review; once you've approved it, I'll get started building.
Building
We'll meet weekly and I'll share progress updates with you.
We'll adjust timeline and feature requirements as we work and the project evolves.
The first week is usually spent setting up a skeleton of an application and gathering any additional requirements -- for instance, will I need access to an external API? How will we be hosting the application? Etc.
Thereafter, we work together to get your MVP built to your specifications.
I continually write tests and documentation to ensure the app is stable and doing what it's meant to do.
Launching
We'll work together to make sure it launches smoothly. I'll institute monitoring and notifications so we can make sure the app is doing what it's supposed to do.
I'll keep extensive documentation to ensure I can hand the app off to you and your team if needed.
Maintenance and Bugfixes
If it's included in your contract, I'll continue to monitor and maintain the application to make sure it's working as expected.
We can use this time to iteratively add new (or update existing) features.

What's included

  • MVP Application

    You'll receive a well-documented, well-tested MVP with detailed instructions for hosting and continued development. It will include a GitHub repository that you'll own, and I'll walk you through any requirements to keep the app running and healthy.

  • Documentation

    A detailed README or Wiki with instructions for hosting, running, and maintaining the application.

  • GitHub Actions CI Workflows and monitoring

    I exclusively build with CI tools to ensure your application can't be deployed in a broken state. I write thorough tests, and the tests need to pass before we can deploy your app. And, in the event something does go wrong, I ensure tools and processes are in place to rectify the problem quickly.
