Website copy is perhaps one of the most valuable currencies of our digital age, and is essential in establishing a company's legitimacy. I write for those with limited attention spans, and am a big proponent of the power of pithy statements.

For large-scale projects, I first host a meeting with the marketing or social team I will be collaborating with so I can get a sense of everyone's working style, general artistic/tonal direction, and what frequency of interface is preferred. I will use this meeting to determine exactly what needs are.

After the meeting, I will request that the team send me any ancillary materials that would be helpful in crafting a cohesive company narrative, as well as information about more niche products (should they be relevant).

Ideally, your team already has a shell of the site built out in a format I can contribute to directly. Figma is preferred, and I am happy to help set up an account if interested. However, I am flexible as long as the platform allows multiple parties to contribute simultaneously.

I will begin with website headers, subheadings, and larger text, which will be provided to your team for approval before I continue. These are arguably the most essential part of a website, and I always ensure I am headed in the right direction.

After major copy is approved, I will begin writing each page individually. When finished with one, I will send to your team for review and incorporate any feedback.

If regular check-ins are preferred (and I do recommend regular check-ins), I will meet with your team consistently to review materials and alterations. Nothing is ever set in stone, and I am happy to take the site in a completely different direction should you change your mind.
