What is proofreading? Proofreading is the last step before you go ahead and hit "publish" on your novel. This edit is necessary for all authors who want to ensure that their novel shines once it hits the shelves. I will dive in and tackle issues with grammar, spelling, and punctuation. As a bonus, I will point out any plot holes and inconsistencies that would distract from the reading experience.

I will dive in with two passes through your manuscript. In the first, I will read every sentence with a careful eye. In the second pass, I will focus on refining the piece—cleaning up the last few errors.

Reach out for a free sample edit. This is not required, but it’s a great way to see if we’re a good match! I will ask for your first 1,000 words. Currently, I offer sample edits only for my proofreading service, not for developmental edits or evaluations.

Do you use AI?
I don't use generative AI at all. In the first pass, I read every sentence with a detailed eye. In the second pass, I use ProWritingAid and Grammarly as tools to catch any last errors. I only use the basic spellcheck and grammar feature, not any generative AI feature.
