Conducting pre-project analysis
To build a shop for the real market, rather than relying on assumptions, I am analyzing seven competitor websites. This analysis includes examining their shops structure, content, communication methods, and visual decisions. We will then compile our findings into a table with conclusions that we can use to develop our own shop.
We creating the structure for our future shop
Before building your website, we analyze how your competitors in the same niche sell and use their best practices to create a clear and effective structure for our own shop. This structure includes a list of blocks that outline the pages, their contents, and the required text length for each block. Our main focus is to ensure that your shop has all the necessary elements for a customer to make a purchase, without being distracted by visual details. If the shop's structure is well-designed and meets our goals, we move forward with confidence.
I order texts according to the approved structure
Based on the number of pages, blocks, and amount of text required for each block in our approved structure, I am ordering customized content from a copywriter.
We create a refined structure for our future shop
After receiving the texts and having the shop structure, we create a refined prototype using actual texts. We can see the layout of each block, but instead of using beautiful images, we use gray squares, grey palette, and standard fonts to focus on the site's structure and content rather than its visual elements. By doing so, we can evaluate the shop's persuasiveness and ease of understanding even at the prototype stage.
We create a visual concept
Using your preferences, the results of the pre-project analysis, and the approved structure of your shop, we gather the best visual solutions from award-winning design websites and other websites in your niche that fit your prototype.
We then create a unique visual style by combining these solutions and compile a visual concept for your website. This includes selecting appropriate colors, fonts, grids, UX-decisions, visual elements and animations that we will use.
With this approach, you will have a clear understanding of the visual style and structure of your future website even before we begin development. The only remaining step will be to implement the design.
Designing the desktop shop in Figma
We begin by designing the first three screens of the shop, followed by the rest of the shop for desktop, in Figma, based on the approved visual concept and prototype. Figma is the preferred tool because it allows for easy editing, which can save us a lot of time in the later stages.
Shop development in Shopify
Once the desktop design is approved in Figma, we move it to Shopify and incorporate animations and interactive elements. We're close to the finish line!
Adapting the website for 4k, tablets, and phones
We check and correct the shop adaptations for all other devices only after it is approved for the desktop version. By doing so, we can avoid unnecessary revisions and save time.
Additional work (JS/Payment/Form Submmissions, Banners, Shipping)
During the customization stage, we work on any complex elements that were agreed upon during the prototype or visual concept stage. This may involve writing custom JavaScript code or integrating with third-party services. We do this after the shop is completed. Once everything is connected and working, we consider our work to be finished. We then transfer the shop to your account and would appreciate your feedback on our work 🙌
