I know how to create a character and animate it in Lottie, without the client having to install any plugins. My Lottie character animation works correctly on any device.
Process
I sketch the character myself, coordinate this with the client, then create the character in a vector editor. After that I animate the character in After Effects and output the animation in JSON (Lottie).
