How long does it take to finish the design stage?
It is an iterative process that typically takes several months to develop a prototype, involving extensive interaction with users and the development team to confirm the feasibility of the solution.
what if I approved something and we need to change it later?
You can always make changes. Making a drastic change could mean that we have to go through the whole process again or take a risk in the solution doesn't work.
Will I have my own Design System?
A Design System is a product in itself, as it often takes months to complete. I usually create a basic design kit with the UI defined, allowing the development team to ensure the product looks as intended. Developers typically use libraries with predefined behaviors, requiring only visual guidance.
What's included
Research documentation
Documentation with all the information about users, benchmark, pain points and potential needs
Wireframes
Prototypes in low definition for testing with users and validate ideas. Note: this stage will be iterative as I will ask for feedback to users and stakeholders to come out with a final MVP
UI Design
Visual explorations on how the product could look like and build a small Design System to proceed with high definition prototyping. Note: this stage will be iterative as I will ask for feedback to users and stakeholders to come out with a final MVP
Prototype
High definition prototype to validate late ideas and fix details in the whole product. Note: this stage will be less iterative as many elements are already designed, but it will require some interaction with the team to get technical validation.
Hand off
All the essential components needed by the development team to create the product.
