Description

Replace an eligible WordPress website with a modern, performance-focused Payload CMS website.
This service is for small businesses with a straightforward informational WordPress site that want to move to a more maintainable platform. I’ll rebuild the agreed website in Payload CMS, migrate the approved content, configure the technical foundations, test the build, and hand it over.
Payload CMS gives you a flexible admin experience for routine content and cosmetic updates without depending on WordPress plugins or PHP-based maintenance.

Why move away from WordPress?

WordPress can still be a workable CMS when it is actively maintained, patched, and kept lean. The practical issue is that many business websites accumulate years of plugins, themes, PHP dependencies, admin accounts, and hosting configurations. That makes routine maintenance harder and widens the surface area that needs to stay secure.
A recent example is PHP2Shell, a name used for 2 critical vulnerabilities in the PHP runtime itself: CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. These vulnerabilities affect PHP, rather than WordPress alone. Since WordPress commonly runs on PHP, an unpatched PHP environment can expose a WordPress site even when the WordPress core, theme, and plugins appear up to date.
The reported impact is serious: researchers demonstrated that vulnerable PHP environments may allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute code on the server or access sensitive information held in PHP worker memory. Depending on the site and server setup, that could put credentials, API tokens, session data, or other sensitive configuration at risk.

What this means for WordPress website owners

The immediate response to a PHP runtime vulnerability is to patch the affected server environment as soon as possible. A migration is not an emergency replacement for patching. If you think your website may be affected, update the PHP runtime, review your hosting provider’s guidance, rotate credentials where appropriate, and consider a professional security review.
Longer term, moving a simple marketing or informational website away from a PHP-based WordPress stack can reduce dependency on the traditional WordPress ecosystem of themes, plugins, and PHP hosting configuration.
Payload CMS is a strong modern alternative for teams that want:
A structured, API-first CMS built around TypeScript and Node.js
A custom admin experience for managing content
More control over the website architecture and content model
Fewer third-party plugin dependencies for core website functionality
A flexible foundation for future integrations, including AI features if they become relevant later
A modern development stack that can be tailored to the actual site requirements
Payload CMS still needs ongoing updates, secure hosting, access control, and sensible engineering. No CMS removes security responsibility. The goal is a simpler, more intentional website setup that is easier to maintain over time.

Included in the fixed $250 scope

Rebuild of 1 informational WordPress website
Up to 10 public-facing pages
Payload CMS setup and configuration
Migration of agreed page content and media
Responsive, performance-focused website build
Technical SEO foundations, including page metadata and crawlable structure
GA4 setup where access is provided
Cloudflare setup where access is provided
SSL, CDN, and hosting configuration where access is provided
An AI-ready technical foundation, designed so future AI integrations can be considered without rebuilding the website architecture
Testing of agreed pages and core user journeys
Handover and guidance for making routine content or cosmetic changes in Payload CMS

Performance target

The website will be built with the goal of achieving a 90+ Lighthouse performance score. Final scores depend on hosting, supplied media, third-party scripts, fonts, analytics tools, and the agreed functionality, so a specific score cannot be guaranteed for every page or environment.
