About this service

Summary

I offer a range of accessibility services including detailed accessibility audits, revalidation, VPAT creation, and design reviews to ensure your product meets accessibility standards. Additionally, I provide developer implementation guides to seamlessly integrate accessible design elements and facilitate stakeholder consultation calls to address any questions or concerns regarding the reports and recommendations.

Process

Accessibility Audit Process
Initial Client Contact & Scoping
First Discussion: When a client reaches out, we start by understanding what they need. If they’re unsure about what to test, I help them figure out which parts of their website or app should be audited (like specific pages or features).
If There's a Scope: If the client already has a list of what they want tested, I’ll review it to make sure it covers everything that needs attention.
Time Estimate & Confirmation
Estimate: Once we’ve agreed on the scope, I give the client an estimate of how long the audit will take. This depends on the size and complexity of the project.
Confirmation: If the client is happy with the time estimate, we finalize everything and proceed.
Conducting the Audit
Auditing the Product: I then go through the product and check it against accessibility guidelines (like WCAG or Section 508) to find any issues that may make it hard for people with disabilities to use.
Multiple Deliverables for Large Projects: If the project is large, I break it down into smaller chunks, so the client gets updates along the way. This makes it easier to manage and track progress.
Delivering the Audit Results
Audit Report: Once the audit is complete, I send a detailed report to the client. The report includes:
A summary of the issues found.
Suggestions on how to fix each issue.
Priority levels for the issues, so the client knows which ones to tackle first.
Final Deliverables: For big projects, I’ll send the findings in stages, so the client can start fixing issues as we go.
Post-Audit Support & Revalidation
Answering Questions: After the audit report is delivered, I’m available to answer any questions the client might have. This could be about the issues I found, or how to address them.
Stakeholder Meetings: If other team members or stakeholders need clarification, we can have meetings to go over the findings together.
Revalidation: After the client has made the fixes, I do a recheck to make sure everything is up to standard and all issues are resolved. This step ensures the product is accessible for all users.
Project Completion
Final Review: Once everything is fixed and revalidated, the project is complete.
Ongoing Support: Depending on the agreement, I might offer ongoing support or periodic audits to ensure the product remains accessible as it evolves.
Please note that processes for other services, such as design reviews or developer implementation guide, etc., may vary slightly based on the specific requirements and scope of the project.

What's included

  • Accessibility Audit Reports

The accessibility audit report is a detailed document that not only identifies all accessibility-related issues on your website but also provides in-depth analysis, including specific examples of bugs and barriers. It offers comprehensive recommendations and clear steps for fixing these issues to improve overall accessibility and user experience.

  • Validation Service

Once the customer has fixed the accessibility issues, revalidation of the product will be performed to ensure everything is working correctly and then a detailed report confirming the fixes and highlighting any remaining issues that may need attention will be provided.

  • Design Reviews

The design review service evaluates your product’s designs during the design phase to ensure they meet accessibility standards, promoting inclusivity and usability for all users.

  • Developer Implementation Guide

The developer implementation guide offers detailed instructions for developers to correctly implement the accessible design elements during the development phase, ensuring seamless integration and compliance.

  • VPAT

A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) service is offered to assess and document how your product or service complies with accessibility standards such as Section 508 or WCAG. This service provides a detailed report evaluating your product’s accessibility features, identifying areas of non-compliance, and offering recommendations for improvement to ensure inclusivity and regulatory compliance for users with disabilities.
