Process

Shopify work is performed on a duplicate theme of the live store so to not disturb the live customers.

A preview link and screen-recording to better communicate are also provided

Non-Shopify services are optimized on the staging area so that work can be evaluated and QA'd

Evaluation using the official Google tools (Lighthouse and Pagespeed insights) with results shared

Implementation of the changes based upon benchmarking from the tools and provide annotated screenshots where required to identify trouble apps / poor configurations

FAQs

Are 3rd-party apps supported?
Yes, in most cases. Although some apps are not compatible with async optimization, when this occurs, I simply add an exclusion to this app so that it loads as normal. It just means the app cannot be loaded in a more performant manner so sometimes switching out to another app is a better route, which I can also assist with.
I want to update my theme, will the optimization be carried across with the update?
No, it's best to update first and then I can perform the optimization on the new theme.
How Long Does the Process Take?
Around 48 to 72 hours to complete the first phase of optimization, from here it can require another round to really perfect the process. In some cases I can perform longer performance tuning on specific difficult to optimize pages, the longest it's ever taken is 2 weeks.
Do you offer whitelabelling?
Yes sure, I can work for your agency and brand all reports and information as coming from your agency
Can you explain what you are optimizing by listing code changes and making screen-recordings?
Yes, this is my preferred way to work, I like to be as transparent as possible.
