I know this is all part of their game and am usually very resistant. "I'm just here for an oil change."
Just when I think I'm home free, my friendly neighborhood grease monkey approaches me and says, "Well you know, summer is approaching quickly. You haven't been having any issues with airflow have you?"
Now that he mentions it, I have been noticing some weak flow.
"You might notice a new odor as well", he says.
"It has been a bit musty in here lately", I thought to myself.
He passively continued, telling me how that could affect the comfort of my ride as the hot summer weather starts rolling in. And, if you're anything like me, there's nothing worse than trying to escape the blazing summer heat and getting into a 4-door sauna with weak AC.
"Screw it", I said. "Let's change out the air filter."
The moral of the story is, the rookie wasn't hitting the pain points that were relevant to me, so the vet swooped in and save the day.
