Cover image for Annual report design, up to 16 pages
An annual report is judged twice: in the hand, as an object, and at the back, where funders check the numbers. I design for both, from the chair's letter to the audited financial statements.
The concept
Two concepts, each shown on the cover, an opening spread, a chart and a financial page
A cover and page system your team will recognise next year, and I can build on
The pages
Up to 16 pages, laid out from your copy and photography
Section openers, pull quotes and portraits, so a reader who only flicks through still gets the year
Charts, tables and timelines designed from your figures and checked against the source
Financial statements set as carefully as the photographs, with the current year marked against the last
Print
Paper, binding and finishes advised for your budget: a die-cut, a spot varnish or a translucent sheet where it earns its cost
Print-ready files to your printer's specification, and the printer's proofs checked and signed off
Packaged source files, with fonts where licences allow
What the price covers
Up to 16 pages, two concepts, three rounds of changes, in six weeks
Copy, photography and the financial figures come from you, and the schedule moves with them
Extra pages are $200 each, and a further round of changes is $450
The print run is yours to buy. A web edition of the report is available on top, quoted separately.
Four annual reports for nonprofits, 266 pages, each closing on its financial statements. Three are in my shots: The Tiger Brands Foundation 2013 and 2014, and HEARD 2011, with a die-cut cover, a spot-varnished cover and a translucent sheet over the contents between them.
