FAQs
What do you need from me before starting with the audit?
Before starting with the UX audit, I need access to the parts of your product that you want me to review, as well as your goals for your product and your expectations about this audit. It's also helpful to know if you're particularly concerned about a specific pattern you've observed. For example, maybe you expected a feature to perform in a different way than what is performing now.
Can the audit be delivered in multiple formats?
Of course! I always hand over a written document and a recording. If you want an additional format for the written document, I don't mind preparing this for you. We can prepare a custom plan that accommodates your needs.
Do you need to look at a launched product or can you look at it even before it's in production?
I can do a UX audit of your product regardless of its stage. It's more cost-efficient to identify and address UX issues during the design phase and before starting with the development process. And if your product has been launched already, we can identify usability and accessibility issues before they reach a larger user base. Also, if you've been collecting quantitative data, I can also use this during the audit.
What's included
☎️ Project Kick-off Call
I like having a kick-off call to make sure I understand your needs and expectations and save both of us time on back and forth communication. The call doesn't need to be long (30 - 45 minutes usually is enough), and I will make sure to send you an agenda and some questions beforehand so you have an idea of what we will discuss and can come prepared.
🗒️ Detailed UX Audit Report
The report I will deliver to you can include some or all of the following points: • Analysis of competitors to identify industry standards and best practices • Evaluate the existing product against established usability heuristics • Check for accessibility compliance and identify potential improvements • Findings and actionable recommendations We can discuss if all these items are needed or not depending on your needs and the needs of your product or feature.
🤸🏻♀️ Flexible Report Format
I can adjust my audit to the easiest way for you to read, implement and reference the annotations later on. The final report can be delivered in the following formats: • Screenshots of your product with annotations in a Google Doc or Google Slides • A recorded walkthrough video of me talking through each screen and leaving written notes using Loom • Comments in the Figma file where your team is working on so they don't need to leave their workflow • If your engineering team is working on the implementation already, I can also leave the comments in GitHub.
🧩 Priorities recommendation (optional)
As a final step, (and if you need it) I can help you prioritize the work based on impact and effort. Some clients prefer to do this themselves, but others appreciate the help when their hands are full.
